Beyond Surfing and Yoga: Adventures & Free Time

Surf and yoga are the heart of what we do here. But Santa Catalina has a way of offering you so much more (if you want it).

Sunrise horse rides, long dinners in town, a day out at Coiba, casual chats with the local fishermen as you wander through the village. Here’s what else is on the table. None of it’s mandatory, but all of it’s worth it.

Coiba National Park

If there’s one thing we’d put at the top of your Santa Catalina bucket list, it’s a day out at Coiba. Return guest’s say it’s a big part of why they come back. Here’s why.

  • Panama’s Galápagos… UNESCO World Heritage-listed and genuinely one of the most biodiverse places on the planet
  • Nearly 800 species of fish, whale sharks, manta rays, hammerheads, sea turtles
  • Small local boats, passionate guides, zero tourist energy
  • No other experience like it

Santa Catalina Island

Just offshore from town… white sand, calm water, a beautiful bay that feels like a reward for simply being here.

  • Swim, snorkel or paddleboard in calm turquoise water
  • Float around and do absolutely nothing. Also valid.
  • Hike the trail for sweeping views back across the coastline
  • Close enough to be spontaneous, beautiful enough to feel like a proper escape

Horse Riding

Early mornings on horseback have become a sneaky favorite amongst guests. Here’s why.

  • Out with local cattle herders through farmland, jungle trails and quiet beaches most visitors never find
  • Genuinely local… not put together for tourists
  • Peaceful, grounding and worth setting your alarm (or alarms) for

Massages/Wellness

A few days of surf, salt water and sunshine will do wonderful things for your mind. But your muscles? They might need some TLC.

  • Restorative massage and wellness treatments available throughout the week
  • Book one in, slow down even further, let the retreat do its thing
  • You’ve earned it

Village Evenings

Santa Catalina is a small town with a big community heart. A couple of evenings a week, we head in together.

  • Long dinners, cold drinks, warm nights, barefoot walks home
  • Local restaurants and families who make this place what it is
  • That small surf town feeling where everyone knows everyone… you’ll feel it straight away

Jungle/Nature Walks

Led by a local who knows this place inside out. The trails, the wildlife and the stories and myths behind all of it.

  • Jungle trails, coastal views, tropical birdlife
  • The history of Santa Catalina, local life, fishing culture, how this village has evolved
  • It’s an outing that makes you feel genuinely connected to this magical place
